Backyard Yellow/Pink Themed Birthday Party

Today I turned 30 years old. I feel like I am too old but when I look at myself in the mirror I don’t feel like 30. Mainly because I am petite and always mistaken by everyone as 20 years old or so. I am in the upper stages of life. I often treat myself as a girl, but today I realized that I am not just a girl but rather a woman…. and a mother of course!

For the past 30 years in my life I don’t consider myself successful as what I expected to be when I was younger. I always dreamed to be someone, a doctor or a writer or an accountant. But instead, I reached my 30 years being jobless and a stay at home wife. The kind of life I imagined to become when I was in high school was so different to what I have today. But… my life that I have now is exactly what I am supposed to be because this is my fate and this is God wants me to have. Being successful isn’t always mean having a great job, money or being rich. In fact, being a mother and a house wife is more than a manager or a doctor could do. It’s the hardest job on earth but also the sweetest job ever!

I don’t mind spending 24 hours 7 days a week with these two. I feel so blessed being with them all the time. I feel so lucky that I don’t have to leave my one year child to other people to take care of her while I was busy doing my job. I am happy and thankful that hubby is capable of supporting our family alone even if I don’t go to work. We are not rich people but we value time for each other over the money we earned. Because honestly, I can find a job if I really want to. I have a proper education and a lot of job experiences. But I choose to stay at home to take care of my child and family overworking and earning money. I love being a stay at home mama and a wife. I love to take care of these two as much as I could.
There are even times though that I feel guilty that I cannot afford expensive toys or clothes for my little girl. I know if I go to work I could earn money and I can help the family expenses. But this is life. And this is what I wanted to be…. at least for now!

Oppsss sorry I wrote too much hehe okay enough drama! Don’t get me wrong I love my life, I really do!
Anyway, today June 11 is my birthday. We had a backyard party last weekend June 8. My friends came over to celebrate my birthday with me. It was a perfect weekend I could ever imagine. A party with lots of food on Saturday afternoon. Chatting and bonding while having BBQs. And then we all went to the sauna afterward. We all love going to the sauna. It’s so refreshing and a good way to clean our skin and body. We watched a good movie after a sauna. And had funny talks until we all feel tired and sleepy.
On Sunday we had a picnic on the beach. We bring our leftover foods from the party. We enjoyed the sun and the beach and also the food. It was beyond perfect. So nice to relax with friends. I just hope we live near each other so we can do it anytime we want to.

The party was fun. It was sunny and windy. Perfect weather for a backyard garden party. All the decorations are DIY by yours truly. I even decorated my own birthday cake. It was my first time to make a ruffle/rose cake. Hubby and daughter decided and worked on the cake fillings. I just decorated it. It was very yummy. I love my dessert table. It was exactly what I was planning to be. All the desserts were also cooked by me. I also made a mini cake and cake pops for the first time. All the sweet treats include cakes, chocolate brownies, cupcakes, mini cakes, cake pops, marshmallows and then fruits. We have so many foods and very few guests. I should have invited some people more. Anyway, for the main course, we had fried chicken, spaghetti, spring rolls and lots of BBQs.
I made all the DIY decorations:
paper balls
paper fans
paper pinwheel
paper flower (from cupcake wrappers)
drinking glass (from a baby food jar)
happy birthday banner

I have a great 30 years in my life and I am looking forward to more years to come, more blessings, good health, and happiness. I pray God will give me a long life full of laughter and joy, problems that I can solve and a lot more travel adventures. My birthday wish has always been… “to explore the world”.

I hope you enjoy this post. I hope you enjoy looking at the gazillion photos I included in a single post.
